Oh how we all just love those IEP meetings! NOT! For those of you who aren’t familiar, IEP meetings are the yearly meetings we have with school personnel to set goals for our special needs kiddos.
They are NOT fun.
Yes, they are necessary. The child’s support team comes up with learning goals for the child – and identify supports that may be necessary. So let’s take a moment and decide what the parent would like to see as goals for the SCHOOL to reach shall we?
- The CSE Chair will refrain from making the parent cry in 2 out of 4 meetings.
- Child’s support team will believe Parent’s observations at home are accurate 90% of the time over the course of 10 trials
- Administration will meet the needs of every child 100% of the time, regardless of cost. This will be measured by the smiling faces and success of said children.
What goals would YOU like to impose on your child’s team??
Comment below and let’s see what you can come up with!
