Live on Zoom
The crisis may be over, but that does not mean your body is finished experiencing it.
During a meltdown, medical event, aggressive episode or other difficult caregiving moment, your attention is focused on safety and helping your person through what is happening.
Then the immediate situation ends.
But instead of having time to recover, you may need to clean up, make phone calls, complete paperwork, prepare dinner, care for another child or move directly into the next responsibility.
From the outside, the event is over.
Inside the caregiver, the adrenaline, physical tension, sensory overload and emotional weight may still be there.
In this free caregiver class, we will talk about:
- What happens inside the caregiver during and after a crisis
- The difference between staying regulated during the event and recovering afterward
- Recognizing activation, shutdown and the lingering effects of high alert
- Identifying whether the experience created a physical, sensory, mental or emotional cost
- Reducing the immediate demands on your system
- Supporting basic needs when you still have responsibilities to manage
- Becoming functional enough for the next necessary task without pretending you are fully recovered
- Creating a repeatable system-reset sequence for after difficult events
We will work together to begin building a personal recovery plan that accounts for what the experience actually used.
Recovery is not a reward you receive after everything else is finished.
It belongs in the caregiving plan because the end of the crisis is not automatically the end of its effect on you.
The class is free, and everyone who registers will receive the replay.

Processing the Emotions Caregivers Have to Postpone
When someone depends on you, there isn't always room to feel what you're feeling.
You handle the crisis. You take care of what's next. You keep everything moving.
But what happens to the anger, fear, grief, resentment, guilt, or even relief that you didn't have time to process?
In this free caregiver class, we'll explore:
- Why caregivers often have to postpone their emotions.
- The difference between processing emotions and getting stuck in them.
- How to make space for difficult or conflicting feelings without becoming overwhelmed.
- Creating a realistic emotional aftercare plan.
You don't have to unpack everything at once. But you deserve more than carrying it indefinitely.

A Caregiver's Guide to the New Year
As the year comes to an end, it's easy to focus on everything you didn't accomplish.
The plans that changed.
The things left unfinished.
The exhaustion you're carrying into another year.
But when you're a caregiver, it's easy to become so focused on getting through each day that you stop thinking about what you want your own life to look like.
And just because caregiving is part of your life doesn't mean your dreams, goals, and needs no longer matter.
Join me for a free class where we'll look at what this year has cost you, what you want to change, and how to create a vision for the year ahead.
We'll cover:
- Looking back: What did this year cost me?
- Looking forward: What do I actually want my life to look like next year?
- How to dream and take action when the future feels hopeless
You don't have to finish the year strong. But you can finish it with direction. Your circumstances may not be entirely within your control, but that doesn't mean your future has to be defined by them.
